Rational for selecting Dokuwiki
Three reasons have motivated the selection of Dokuwiki as Impilo's documentation platform:
- First, Dokuwiki does not require the use of a relational database system. This is an important point for documentation portability.
- Second, a Dokuwiki installation is a vast collection of text files, another strong point for portability.
- Thirdly (anf finally!), a large plugin ecosystem exists, which allow for easy expansion of the functionality of this documentation project.
At present (06/2013), this site uses the Weatherwax version since the large majority of plugins is now officially compatible. Those who are not are actually working just fine anyway
