Hi to all This is the central location for all of the notes regarding the building of this Linux distro. In addition, this wiki is intended to be the starting point for all bioinformatics documentation that we plan to create to go with this distro.

Because we are 1) french-speaking and 2) our students are also mostly french-speaking (at the least as a second language) in a university québécoise, the most complete version of this site is in the french section. If you want to improve this version, let us know that you want to participate

We are teachers as much as we are bioinformaticians. Along the way, we answered many questions on how to install App A or use tool B. You might not want to use Impilo per se but you need to install an application or you want to create your own server. This is where we put all the infos on our process to help you out.

Impilo is not just a bunch of applications collected from the web. We also want to build a documentation project on the theory and the practice of bioinformatics. This wiki is the starting point of that effort. NOTE: the english version of the impilopedia is always done after the french one; there is only 24 hours in each day and french speaking students are our first audience. However, if you are looking for the translation of a specific page and do not find it, please let us know and we will work hard at translating it
